Proposals To Withdraw National Statistics Series
Sir David Normington’s review ‘Reducing the Data Burden on Police Forces in England and Wales’ aimed to reduce these forces’ data collection burden by 50 per cent. As a result, it contains proposals for cutting out altogether or reducing significantly 36 data streams.
The National Statistics bulletin Drug Offenders England and Wales is being withdrawn with immediate effect. This follows a consultation conducted in accordance with the National Statistics procedures for withdrawing statistical outputs from the scope of National Statistics. The last issue to be published was the 2004 volume, published in December 2005.
Responsibility for statistics on offending has now transferred to the Ministry of Justice. If you wish to receive statistics on drug offenders for more recent periods, please contact John Marais (John.Marais@cjs.gsi.gov.uk). (January 2009)
